Sino-Canada Joint R&D Center on Water and Environmental Safety held the Midterm Report Conference

     October 25th, Sino-Canada Joint R&D Center on Water and Environmental Safety (SCWE) 2016 Technology Cooperation Program Midterm Report and 2017 Working Conference were held in TEDA Institute of Nankai University. The conference summarized the construction progress of the center in the term of 2015-2016 and discussed the key work plan and yearly budget for 2017.

     Present were Huang Yalou, Director of Science Committee of Binhai New Area, Guan Naijia, Vice President of Nankai University’s, Dr. Edward McBean, Canada Research Chair in Water Supply Security and Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, Ronald Drost, chairman of the board of directors, director Chris Twigg Morris and so on.

Sino-Canada Joint R&D Center on Water and Environmental Safety (SCWE) were co-established by four sides, Government of Binhai New Area, Nankai University, Canada Water Technology Exchange and CAIEP, respectively. On May 23th , 2016, the Center was inaugurated in TEDA Institute, Nankai University.The Centre brings together all advantages of resources and power, focusing on cutting-edge technology, such as research and development of sponge city construction, prevention and control of pollution monitoring and environment protection and repair. The Center will be based in northern China, and will make a positive contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development to China and Northeast Asia.
