Two Programs of Nankai University selected as 2017 Innovative Talent International Joint Cultivation Programs

The list of 2017 Innovative Talent International Joint Cultivation Programs was recently released. 57 programs from different Chinese universities and institutions were approved. School of Materials Science and Engineering’s Innovative Talent Joint Cultivation Program of New Photovoltaic Power Generation Technology and School of Medicine’s Innovative Talent Joint Cultivation Program of Tumor Immunology and Biological Vaccines were on the list.
Eight programs from seven schools and colleges of Nankai University applied for the 2017 Innovative Talent International Joint Cultivation Programs in September 2016. After a strict evaluation and an advertisement campaign inside the campus, three programs were recommended to China Scholarship Council (CSC). After review and examination, CSC confirmed the final list. The six unselected programs will be listed as Nankai University Cultivation Programs.
Established by CSC, the Innovative Talent International Joint Cultivation Program aims at serving the national strategies, the comprehensive educative reforms and the construction of a double first-class university. It also cultivates the innovative and comprehensive international talent required by China. The project supports Chinese universities and institutions and encourages the creation of multi-disciplinary talent cultivation programs which can serve the national strategy and satisfy the urgent needs of the industry. This kind of funded program selects and sends abroad joint-cultivated Ph.D. and master’s students, researchers, visiting scholars, and so on. CSC bears all the expenses abroad.
